This trendy fabric comes in vibrant plaid patterns that look matte, but shimmer beautifully under light. You may see some irregularities in shading and weaving, and slubs that are occurring all over the fabric. These irregularities and slubs occur naturally but display the true beauty of this fabric. However, unlike this fabric's dupioni counterpart, these fabrics feature much less slubs on its surface.
This fabric is very similar to the original silk shantung and can be used in the same way for upholstery's and apparel creations such as dresses, ball gowns, suits and other timeless heirloom garments.
